A 'beso' is a kiss in spanish. This is about a city that kisses me every day I am in it. A city that continuously enchants me. It is about an infatuation that has turned into a love affair. Barcelona, I am besotted! Why.......???
….owned and operated by the same family and serving the same tapas menu since they started in 1945. An authentic institution tucked in Calle Merce and offerering a true tapas experience - a quick stop for a chat, a wine and a tapa.
…not a breakfast (for me) everyday but in the back streets of Barceloneta is this institution that serves food all day. A place frequented by night shift workers who finish their day in the morning, it is also a place to have a very Spanish breakfast - sardines fresh from the sea, calamari, jamón, eggs... and wine! Delicious! UN BESO: Salamanca Restaurant, X Calle Almirall Cevera, 34 http://restaurantesalamanca.es/es/salamanca/

...the vermuteria, cafe and tapas bar is located in Sant Pere Més Alt, by the quaint little Passatge Sert. Open all day, this pretty and chic place is a highlight on the street; serving vermut, wine, their artisinal sangría and tapas all day. (Even better, is that it is close to me and my new favourite place to go.) UN BESO: Casa Lolea, X Carrer De Sant Pere Més alt, 49 http://www.casalolea.com/
Located down a little laneway off Paseo de Gracia, El Nacional- once a run-down car parking space- has been remodelled as the new glamorous and innovative place to have a coffee, to have a wine or to dine. There are a variety of different zones within the space - 4 restaurants and 4 bars - offering a variety of culinary and drinking options. The industrialist building, which first opened as a Theatre (1870-1900),has also been a fabric factory, a a car dealership and a car parking space, and it now has a new life as a beautiful dining space.
